Case Studies

Case #1 – Multinational Health Food Company

One of Australia’s largest health food companies regularly upgrades their technology to maximise productivity. As a result they have a large quantity of IT equipment that needs to be disposed of with minimal environmental impact.

The company IT head contacted us to arrange for secure disposal of computers, servers & laptops. Brisbane Computer & IT Recycling picked up the stock at no cost and proceeded to de-badge and de-tag all equipment for recycling. This was done at no cost to the customer.

Case #2 – State-wide Insurance Company

As once QLD’s most respected and well known providers of insurance & automotive assistance,  this large company wanted to recycle their obsolete but working equipment to benefit QLD families & small businesses.  They stipulated the equipment was to stay in the country and not be exported. They also wished to reduce the cost of recycling the equipment as most providers they had used had charged for the service. Ideally the company wanted a cost neutral service.

After many conversations and a meeting they decided that Brisbane Computer & IT Recycling was able to deliver both a cost neutral service and refurbish the equipment back to the QLD community.

Case #3 – State Government Utility Provider

The amalgamation of two utility providers in South East QLD resulted in lower operational costs and greater efficiency. The combining of office resources from two locations to one left a large quantity of desktops, laptops and LCD screens that were no longer needed. The equipment was in storage in two separate locations.

The IT Manager contacted an undisclosed number of recycling providers to get quotes for 2 separate jobs.

  1. The itemisation and cataloguing of the equipment, including the make, model & serial numbers.
  2. Collection, data destruction & recycling/remarketing of this equipment.

After many months of negotiation Brisbane Computer & IT Recycling was chosen for the job.

We dispatched a mobile team with mobile power, laptops, barcode scanners and label printer to scan, record and barcode label every asset. All 1600 pieces. This information was then given to the IT department to ensure all lease arrangements had expired or paid out for decommissioning.

Once all the assets had been released we promptly returned to remove the equipment. 94% was remarketed back into the community.
